Answer Sources and Editorial Policy

The short version: daily answers come from the sheet the game publishes, every page says where its data came from, and when we have nothing, the page says so.

Two kinds of data, kept apart

Everything on this site belongs to one of two families, and they never mix.

  • Daily dive records. The prompts and accepted answers for a specific date of the original Krillion game. This is the game's data, gathered as described below. It is not supplied to us by Krillion, and Krillion does not endorse this site.
  • Our practice bank. Original prompts and answer lists written for Unlimited. These have nothing to do with the official game's questions or scores, and we never describe a practice answer as “accepted by Krillion”.

Where daily dive data comes from

The official reveal

For each day, the game publishes its prompts and, as the “reveal” shown after a dive, the full sheet of accepted answers with their tiers and points. We read that published data automatically. A sheet can run to tens of thousands of answers, nearly all of them in one tier, so we keep a selection: every top-tier answer with the game's note on it, a handful from each tier below, and the size of the sheet. Pages built from it carry the label Official reveal. The sync is automatic and nobody checks each sheet by hand; if the game corrects its sheet during the day, our copy follows at the next sync.

Third-party archive samples

The game does not serve the answer sheets of past days. For dates before this site began syncing, the prompts and a few answers per prompt were recorded from the public pages of another companion site's archive. Those pages carry the label Archived sample and link to the page they were recorded from. They show how many answers the full sheet had, and we have not checked them against the original sheet.

What happens before data is shown

Every record, whatever its source, goes through the same checks before it is stored:

  • the date must be a real game date, not in the future;
  • there must be seven distinct prompts, each with at least one answer;
  • every tier must be one the game defines, and its points must match that tier;
  • an answer is never listed twice under different capitalisation or punctuation.

If the source changes shape in a way we don't recognise, such as a new tier, the sync stops rather than guess, and the day stays empty until it is fixed.

What the labels mean

  • Awaiting today's answers. Nothing has been synced for this date yet. The page shows no prompts, no answers and no numbers.
  • Official reveal. A selection synced from the sheet the game published for that day.
  • Archived sample. A few answers per prompt, recorded from a third-party archive.

Numbers such as a dive number, an answer's points, or how many answers a prompt accepts are shown only when the source states them. We don't estimate them.

Hints

Hints are generated from the day's answer sheet: how many answers are accepted and how many are common, then the length and the first and last letters of one top-scoring answer. They are facts about the sheet, produced by a fixed rule, and they are not official clues.

Corrections

A dated page always refers to the same dive and keeps the same address. If you find something that doesn't match the game, contact us with the date and prompt number. The game itself is the final authority on its own answers.

The practice bank

Practice prompts are written by us and built on sets with clear, stable membership, such as countries, chemical elements or a director's films. Every prompt records the rule that defines its answer list and a public reference the list can be checked against. Tiers are assigned by our editors according to how widely known each answer is.

When you type something that isn't in our bank, the game says exactly that: not in our practice bank yet. It does not say you were wrong, because we can't know that.

What we don't do

  • We don't invent answers, scores, dive numbers or answer counts.
  • We don't present an earlier dive as today's.
  • We don't present a selection as the full sheet, or an archived sample as an official one.
  • We don't send what you type in the practice game to any third-party AI service.
  • We don't use the official game's logo, characters or artwork.
